Brian Paul

Founder

Brian Paul holds BS and MS degrees from the University of Wisconsin. He's probably best known for being the original writer of Mesa, his open-source implementation of the OpenGL API. Prior to Tungsten Graphics, he was employed by VA Linux Systems and Precision Insight where he developed hardware accelerated 3D drivers for Linux; Avid Technology, Inc. developing an OpenGL-based graphics application; and the University of Wisconsin where he wrote scientific visualization software. Brian's experience with workstation graphics goes back to 1989 when he wrote a 3D modeller for the Pixar Image Computer. In his spare time, Brian likes cycling, running, skiing and snowboarding in and around Steamboat Springs, Colorado (depending on the season, of course).
